The PCF Community Advisory Committee is represented by members who are committed and passionate about creating an even better future for the Peel region.

The members believe that enabling ‘Philanthropy in Peel’ through the Peel Community Foundation  (PCF) is a tangible, community focused way of realising this vision.

Kristie Tonkin

Director & Chair

Kristie loves living in Mandurah and has worked for the past seven years in regional economic and social development. Originally from Albany and having spent some time in Geraldton, Kristie is passionate about building sustainable regional communities where all people have the opportunity to build and achieve their aspirations.

She has a super-power for making connections and identifying where systems require change to better work for the people in the system.

Through exploring local giving opportunities with Peel Community Foundation Kristie hopes to connect aspiring philanthropists with the exceptional community sector organisations throughout the region who are always striving for improved outcomes for their clients.

Naomi Purcell

Director & Deputy Chair

Naomi has called Waroona home for the last 17 years and enjoys being an active member of the community. She currently works as a Registered Nurse, represents Waroona on Shire Council and is involved in local community groups and not-for-profit organisations.

This commitment to the community has enhanced her appreciation of the value that philanthropic gifting holds. Naomi has a passion for grassroots community spirit and a desire to make the locations in the Peel Region places of belonging for people who reside here.

Through the Peel Community Foundation, she hopes to see philanthropy bring people together to achieve things that they possibly couldn’t achieve alone. She wishes for the PCF to mature into something that grows the people, communities and possibilities in the Peel region. Naomi is the Deputy Chair of the PCF.

Tom Huberli


Tom Hüberli is a Principal within the RSM Australia Business Advisory team in Rockingham, which represents the firm in the Peel and Rockingham-Kwinana (PARK) region. He is a Chartered Accountant, working with RSM since 2000.
As well as working in the Perth CBD, Tom has spent several years in both regional and metropolitan offices. In this time, he has contributed to various community initiatives including APEX and the Embers Committee in his Busselton office tenure as well as supporting Fremantle Foundations events during his time in the Fremantle office. This has left him with a genuine care for people as well as an ability to communicate complex advice on the application of taxation and other business-related legislation in a personable and understandable manner.
With his friendly professional manner, Tom continues to establish strong alliances with many other professionals in the PARK region who he can refer clients to for such services as legal, marketing, finance broking, book-keeping, human resources and much more.

Tom enjoys being a trusted partner / adviser to his clients but also loves working in, and supporting, the community in which he lives.

veronica smith

Director & Secretary

Veronica is an experienced and highly skilled leader with strong management skills.  Having worked across a number of industry sectors including government, non-government, not for profit and private, she ahs continually been committed to the development of her leadership qualities and using these to support clients in achieving their goals and aspirations.

Veronica enjoys the challenge of both paid and volunteer roles, and the learning that these opportunities for personal and professional growth provide.

Rachael King


Rachael embarked on her legal journey at the University of Notre Dame in 2009, bravely pursuing her Bachelor of Laws while expecting her first child. In 2016, she was admitted as a Lawyer in the Supreme Court of Western Australia, marking the beginning of her impactful career in law. She attained her Masters in Family Law in 2019.

Before her legal career, Rachael earned a degree in Psychology and delved into Social Work. Her experience as a Social Worker provides her with a unique perspective, enhancing her ability to connect with clients on a deeper level. 

Outside the courtroom, Rachael is a devoted mother to two children who share her love for the beach and cherished moments with extended family. Her interests include immersing herself in books, exploring new destinations, and cherishing time with her friends.

Amy James


Amy graduated from the University of Newcastle (NSW) in 2010 with a Bachelor of Laws and Business and Diploma of Legal Practice. She was admitted as a Lawyer in the Supreme Court of Western Australia and High Court of Australia in 2011. Amy also completed her Masters in Family Law in 2020. Amy has practised exclusively in Family Law for her entire career and has extensive experience in all aspects of Family Law. 

Outside of work, Amy and her husband enjoy being challenged daily by their strong-willed and vibrant toddler who is the love of their life. Amy is also an animal lover and adopted a rescue dog in 2022.
